There is still time to apply for the 2018 cycle of Montgomery County’s comprehensive plan implementation funding program. An increased funding allotment of $1.5 million is available on a competitive grant basis for municipalities and their partners to make real progress on the goals of the comprehensive plan affecting their local communities. A new focus category, Adaptation and Resiliency, has being introduced to address negative environmental changes through projects such as floodplain mitigation, streambank restoration, green streets, and community gardens. The two other focus categories are (1) Walk Montco and Bike Montco – Trails, Paths, Sidewalk Connections, and Bike Facilities, and (2) Support of Downtowns and Community Destinations.
Other project types that meet the goals of the comprehensive plan may also be eligible. Click here for complete program guidelines for the 2018 cycle, along with the application form and instructions. For more information contact Scott France at (610) 278-3747.
